Musculoskeletal Podiatry (Biomechanics)
Musculoskeletal Conditions & Sports Injuries
Pain and discomfort in the feet and lower limbs can often be caused by a Musculoskeletal issue, that being how the muscles, bones and tendons in the foot work together. Podiatrists at Flo Paul Podiatry are highly skilled in assessing any lower limb issues, including, how you walk, move, and stand, and providing a range of possible solutions.
Following an assessment of your lower limbs, we will explain any issues identified to you how these are effecting you and causing you pain and discomfort.
There can be a number of different solutions to Musculoskeletal issues. For example, we may advise the use of orthotics which we can provide, and/or an exercise programme which will be specific to your individual needs.

Musculoskeletal Assessment
An MSK (musculoskeletal) assessment is a clinical evaluation focused on identifying issues related to the muscles, bones and joints.
When assessing the lower limbs, the process typically involves taking a detailed patient history, details of your symptoms such as pain, weakness or change in movement and how this affects your every day activities.
A physical examination is then carried out to evaluate posture, gait (the way you walk), range of motion, strength, flexibility, and joint stability.
Specific tests may be used to assess areas such as the hips, knees, ankles, and feet for pain, swelling, deformity, or functional limitations.
The goal is to diagnose any conditions affecting mobility or causing discomfort, and to guide appropriate treatment or rehabilitation plans.
